Béjot vins & terroirs

BEJOT vins & terroirs acquires the Domaine du Chapitre in the Mâconnais-Beaujolais

BEJOT vins & terroirs, firmly rooted in the Burgundian wine growing territory for nearly 25 years, operates more than 230 hectares (approx. 570 acres) of vineyards from Chablis to Mâcon.

Already present in the region with the Château La Tour de l’Ange, the estate of 44 hectares located in Davayé (appellations Juliénas, Beaujolais, Bourgogne Chardonnay, Mâcon-Villages, Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé) and also the exclusive partner of the Hospices de Beaujeu* for the year 2014, BEJOT vins et terroirs today reiterates its strong attachment to the Maconnais-Beaujolais area by taking the management of the Domaine du Chapitre, based in La Chapelle-de-Guinchay (71).

This beautiful estate of nearly 20 hectares (ha) of vines has over 5 ha of Beaujolais Crus (Morgon and Fleurie), nearly 7 hectares in Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages and finally 2.3 ha of Burgundy Blanc and 6.2 ha of Mâcon-Villages. It also boasts about 25 ha of land in AOP (Appellation d’Origine Protégée) on which Vincent SAUVESTRE CEO of BEJOT vins & terroirs, plans to plant with Chardonnay.

Since 1981 the Estate has been operated by Joel Morin, Head of Culture, who knows all the secrets. Avid fan of sustainable agriculture, he has committed this passion to a very ambitious quality approach.

The respect for the environment and the land are also key values for BEJOT vins & terroirs and its sixty winemakers. So while all of its domains of Burgundy are operated using sustainable agriculture, all of its Southern Domains (300 hectares) are either certified organic or in the process of being converted.

United by the same passion for the wine and the vineyards of Beaujolais-Mâconnais Vincent SAUVESTRE and Joel MORIN plan to continue the qualitative approach initiated by an ambitious renovation of the vineyard and its infrastructure.

“The success of BEJOT vins & terroirs is directly related to the quality of its supplies. Our domains allow us to offer wines of the highest quality to our customers. With Domaine du Chapitre BEJOT vins & terroirs confirms the value of its Beaujolais offers and affirms its strong belief in these wines of enjoyment and conviviality.”Says Vincent SAUVESTRE.
